The starting point. Technicians complete an IRATA training course and independent assessment, then work on the ropes under the supervision of a Level 3.

In 2023, women made up about 15% of Australia’s building and construction workforce, but only about 3% were working on the tools.

Omnia was co-founded by a woman, and women are part of how the business runs every day: on the ropes, on the tools and in the office.
That shapes how we hire, how we train and how we look after people on site. It also means clients get a team that reflects the communities and residents we work for.
Getting started
The path onto the ropes
Rope access is a skilled trade with a clear, merit-based ladder. Nobody starts on a high-rise alone. Every technician progresses through the same IRATA levels, based on hours worked and assessed skill.
Level 2
After at least 12 months and 1,000 logged hours at Level 1. Level 2 technicians take on rigging and rescues, still under a Level 3 supervisor.
Level 3
After another 12 months and 1,000 hours. Level 3 technicians supervise the work site, plan rescues and are responsible for the team’s safety.
Many technicians come from painting, building, climbing, fitness or hospitality backgrounds. What matters is being comfortable at height, careful with detail and good in a team. Interested? See careers at Omnia.
