How rope access stays safe

What IRATA is
IRATA International is the industry body for industrial rope access. It sets training, assessment and working standards used around the world, and technicians are certified at levels based on experience and skill. irata.org
The safety system
- Two independent ropes, a working line and a backup line, on separate anchors
- Certified anchors inspected before use
- Trained, assessed technicians at defined IRATA levels with appropriate supervision
- Working in pairs: no one works alone
- Rescue plan for every job, with the equipment and people to carry it out
- Exclusion zones at ground level to protect the public
- Equipment inspection before every use and on a regular recorded schedule
Safer for residents too
